EOS Lip Balm Review

EOS lip balm is a favorite of many people. You can find them being featured pretty much everywhere and they’ve been around for years! They’re shaped like little eggs and come with a good amount of product in ‘em. You can find them pretty easily, at Target or really any other online store.

EOS Lip Balm Flavors & Packaging

EOS lip balms have so many flavors and colors, you can never have enough. The flavors aren’t too strong either so there’s nothing to worry about there either. The only thing I’d say is, I much rather use these as a lip base than a balm. Especially for the winter months, I think the EOS lip balms aren’t that moisturizing but for the summer, when you really just need a little something, these work great.

I do have to say though, the packaging is pretty cute and they are pretty inexpensive as well, when you compare them to the other lip balms coming out. And for a few of my favorites EOS lip balms keep on reading.

EOS lip balm flavors

1. Pomegranate Raspberry

My absolute favorite, so of course, it is at the top of the list. A good moisturizer, and nicely colored. I love the flavor of this the best, I just wish it was slightly tinted in the same color of the packaging – crimson red.

2. Sweet Mint

The fragrance is perhaps slightly, weird, but it is a good one. It has a bunch of natural extracts and essential oils which helps with moisturizing your lips. And, it’s a light green color.

3. Blueberry Acai

Comes in a blue case, and definitely is blueberry and acai flavored. I guess it must be pretty obvious that I really like berries. It’s just that they’re not too sweet, or strong.

4. Lemon Drop

This one has an SPF of 15 for sure, and tastes very fresh and lemony.  A pretty good one for the summer, and is packaged in a beautiful lemon yellow color.

EOS Lip Balm Ingredients

The company says that EOS lip balms are 95 % organic, hypoallergenic, 100 % natural, paraben and petrolatum free. They are packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil which helps to keep your lips soft and “sensationally smooth”.

How to Use

EOS lip balms are pretty easy to use. You can just twist the top off, and you have the balm shaped as a egg yolk in an egg. Use your fingers or lip brush apply it on your lips.

My Review on EOS Lip Balm

The flavor I liked the best was pomegranate raspberry, so the review is based on it . Its taste is subtle, so it won’t just fill your mouth with like you’ve eaten berries, and of course, it is a good choice for kisses as well. As soon as you open the product, you’ll be able to smell a soft scent of the berries. The packaging of pomegranate raspberry is a bright pink and very girly.

All the EOS lip balms have a flat bottom, so you can place them up on a vanity desk, and they’ll stay. The lip balms aren’t sticky either, and very pleasant to have on your lips. They glide on well, last a while, and don’t have a glossy feel at all. They look very natural and can moisturize mildly chapped lips pretty easily. Even after the lip balm is gone, your lips will continue to feel hydrated and moisturized for the rest of the day.

Yeah, they’re not the best of the best lip balms in the market, but they are good enough. Now, let’s discuss a few of the pros and cons of the EOS lip balms.

Pros

  • Pretty cute to look at
  • Unique packaging
  • Inexpensive but quality product
  • Feels natural, and not heavy or waxy at all
  • Does a good job at moisturizing lips
  • Great for mildly chapped lips
  • 95% organic
  • Easy to carry
  • Subtle fragrances and flavors that won’t leave you with a headache

Cons

  • Perhaps no SPF..?
  • No tint
  • The consistency is a little harder
  • Not the best for extremely dry lips

Endorsed by Celebrities

If all this information seems pretty boring for you, here’s fun facts about the EOS brand that you may not have known! - The EOS lip balms are endorsed by popular celebrities, such as Kim Kardashian and Britney Spears. EOS actually stands for ‘Evolution of Smooth’, but I’d say that’s only true for some people.

EOS Lip Balm Lawsuit

EOS lip balms recently faced a lawsuit in 2016 when someone claimed that it made their mouth break out with rashes and red bumps. But, worry not, it’s all good. The company has released the following statement: "We are pleased to announce that the class action lawsuit brought against EOS earlier this month has been resolved. Our products are safe — and this settlement confirms that. Our lip balms are hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, made with the highest quality ingredients, meet or exceed all safety and quality standards set by our industry and are validated by rigorous safety testing conducted by independent labs. We love our customers and their enjoyment of our products is our top priority. We thank them for their continued support". EOS also makes a bunch of other products, such as body lotions, so you might want to try those out too.

My Recommendation

To wrap it all up, here are my final words. The lip balms are incredible for their price, most range around $3 - $5. I like to use them in the summer for a bit of moisturizing but never when I need something ultra-hydrating. You can put them on before you put on your lipstick or lip liner and it’ll help create a smooth surface and avoid the product from setting into the fine lines.

If you’re big into wearing matte liquid lipsticks, you could put the EOS lip balm on a few minutes before, and it’ll totally change the way the matte lipstick will set on your lips. It’ll last much longer too without any cracks, or a need for reapplication. Although the lip balms are great, I think I’m good with the few I have in my collection for a while. They’re not really a product I feel the need to have stocked. But yeah, I would purchase them again when I run out of it, undoubtedly.
