Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review

Hello, ladies, I am back again with a new review :) you know it takes a while to test the product before writing a fair review on it. So, I just do not rush towards writing the review after buying a particular product that is why you do not see me often coming up with new reviews. You can also ask me to write a review on some beauty or cosmetic product by emailing me or simply dropping me a message on Facebook or any of my social channels.
Well, today I am reviewing Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water, it’s a makeup remover that seems to have caught the attention of nearly every makeup geek. Before jumping onto the review of this product, I would want you ladies to read a bit about the micellar water first.

So, What is Micellar Cleansing Water?

Micellar water comprises of tiny molecules of cleansing oil; these molecules have the immaculate ability to attract dirt and impurities from the deepest of the skin pores. This cleansing water looks almost like regular tap water but has a slightly different and oily texture to it. The tiny molecules of cleansing oil are suspended in soft water to remove the oil and dirt from the skin pores while moisturizing it.

The Micellar water can be used as a makeup remover, a skin moisturizer and as a good face wash. Although the studies are pretty limited, the Micellar water is known to have a good effect on acne prone skin. It removes the excess oil from the large pores and thus minimizes the chances of acne breakouts. The growing trend of micellar water caught the attention of many cosmetic brands, and now you can find it easily in any drugstore with different brand names.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Ingredients

Well, I have covered quite some detail on the Micellar water but what Garnier has been offering to make it a standout product is actually what enticed me the most. Although the main ingredient is the Micellar water itself this product has gotten: Aqua/Water, Hexylene Glycol, Glycerin, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Poloxamer 184, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Disodium Edta, Citric Acid, Panthenol, Polyaminopropyl Biguanide.

The addition of Castor Oil, Citric Acid and Panthenol (Vitamin B5, Good to treat sunburns and skin rashes) are quite convincing for a maintaining a good skin hygiene. The addition of Polyaminopropyl Biguanide is a big favor from Garnier. It is basically a skin disinfectant and can help in preventing skin infections of many kinds.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water: Pink vs. Blue vs. Green

Garnier Micellar water product line offers three different variants in Green, Pink and Blue Color. The Green colored variant claims to work better with oily skins because of its mattifying formula. The Pink variant claims to be suitable for all skin types, and the blue variant offers the same but with a more potent formula to remove the waterproof makeup. I bought the blue version because it felt like a good choice to me. If you are wondering about choosing between the pink or blue, I suggest you go for the blue version because of its potency compared to the pink version.

The Packaging

I bought the 400ml bottle of Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water in blue color. The bottle is transparent with a blue pop open cap, and you can easily see the micellar water inside it. It has a silver colored label on front and back with the brand name and ingredients respectively. It’s a plastic bottle that is totally travel-friendly, you can easily carry it in your bag if you are going for vacations or even at your workplace. It is absolutely crash free, I dropped it a few times, but this bottle is all safe to carry without any hassles. The pop-open cap safely secures the water without any chances of leakage and make it a lot easy for the application without overspilling the product.

My Review on Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water

I have used many makeup removers in the past but this thing has been enticing me for quite some months during my visits to drugstores. I always thought that it was an ordinary makeup cleanser with some fancy packaging but in the end, I bought it. I bought the 400 ml bottle of the blue variant in PKR. 499 from Daraz.pk. The best thing to start with this product is its bi-phase functionality, it not only removes the stubborn makeup but also moisturizes and pampers your skin with Vitamin B5, Citric Acid, and skin disinfectants.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Blue bottle

Although you might find many bi-phase makeup removers on the market but this one does its job pretty well. This product is absolutely free from alcohol and oil, like other makeup removers it does not leave behind oily residue on your skin. The other good part about this product is it settles into your skin pretty fast. Just pour some product on a cotton pad and use a circular motion to remove the makeup, do not put excessive pressure on your skin while doing it; just let the product do its work.

Another good thing about this product is its fragrance-free formula. I do not like the absurd smell of makeup removers, and this product fits in perfectly with my makeup routine because of it. The micellar water feels almost like ordinary water with a slight oiliness to it. It is not thick or heavy at all, and neither does it cause any irritation on your skin. I have been using the product for more than a month, and I have never experienced any itchiness, redness or irritation on my skin at all.

Garnier Micellar Water 400 ml bottle

Always shake the bottle before using it because at times the ingredients, they do come up on the top leaving the water below. For me, most of the makeup comes off in a single swipe without excessive rubbing or tugging. Use different cotton pads for different areas, and you would be amazed by this product’s capability. I have used Mac Pro Longwear foundation, Nars Sheer Glow foundation and L'Oreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara during this testing period and I am quite convinced with its makeup removing capability. Make sure you read the directions on the bottle before using it for the best results.
