NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Review & Swatches

Hello everyone, today I am going to share with you a review with swatches on NYX soft matte lip creams. A friend of mine has just gifted this beautiful set of lip creams set from the US and I am really glad to write my experience with these little beauties. At first, I was like ‘what? A lip cream?’ But then I explored NYX’s official web to check out some info on them’. This is indeed something different at least to me. I have tried only two shades from the set, so some of the images you’re going to see in my review are taken from Serena Verbon’s blog (duly credited).

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Shades

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream shades

The NYX soft matte lip cream is available in thirty-four different shades to choose from. The texture of this cream is a bit velvety with a silky sheen to it, but it settles down perfectly into a matte finish. NYX has recently added twelve more astounding shades to this product line.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Packaging

The NYX soft lip cream comes in a fancy packaging with vivid colors that make them look really adorable. But you should always test the cream on your palm first to make sure if the shade is the right one for you. Do not fall for the color of packaging it does not look same on the application. So, Test it first!

My Review on NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

The NYX soft matte lip cream is more like a mixture of a lip gloss and lipstick. It has a rich, creamy texture, and it comes with an applicator that works nicely and precisely for a perfect application. The best way to wear this lip cream is by applying its first coat horizontally which would leave a bit of streakiness on your lips. The second coat should be applied vertically so there would be no signs of a streaky feel at all. You might feel a slight glossiness on your lips but once the cream settles down it would turn perfectly into a matte finish. One problem with the applicator is that the product gets stuck to the applicator’s sponge and it might result in excessive usage of the product, and your lip cream won’t last more than a few weeks.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams in my hand

This lip cream does not turn into the matte form immediately after application. It generally takes around five to ten minutes to settle down. The shades are highly pigmented so you might not notice a lot of difference in multiple coats, but the best way to wear it is by applying it once horizontally and once vertically to avoid the streaky feel on your lips.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Swatches

The NYX soft matte lip cream has a sweetish smell to it, but that won’t bother you a lot. The scent usually dissipates within a few minutes, and it is very light too. The lasting power of this lipstick is around three to four hours easily. I have seen numerous reviews claiming that it can last up to six hours that is totally absurd.  Once the lip cream achieves complete matte form it stays there perfectly, neither does it budge or smear after drying out. The best part about this lip cream is that the shade almost gives a feel of the natural lip color; a perfect choice for natural makeup lovers. This lip cream works perfectly with well-moisturized lips so do not try to use it on excessively dry lips as it may settle into dry patches and highlight the imperfections.
