IT Cosmetics CC Cream Review

Hello gals hope you all are doing fabulous there. I have been writing a lot of reviews on makeup foundations and received some good feedback. A very good friend of mine from Canada asked me to review IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better™ CC Cream. I have been trying to lay my hands on to it for some time until it came as a surprise gift from her after a few weeks of our discussion. Before jumping to the review I would like to clarify about the difference between CC creams and BB Creams first.

Well I usually see tons of BB creams at drugstores from different brands but to be honest I have not tried a single one of them until now. BB Creams stands for Blemish balm or beauty balms and they are generally used to hide the skin blemishes or wrinkles and give a smoother and lighter foundation to the makeup. BB Creams are quite popular in Asian countries compared to the western countries. On the other hand CC creams are known as the color correcting creams. These creams offer much more than hiding skin blemishes, they likely offer various skin care benefits like healing acne, serving as a sunscreen etc.

What IT Cosmetics Proclaims About ‘Your Skin But Better’ CC Cream

Well, IT Cosmetics claims that it is a full coverage color correcting cream with anti-aging formula and SPF50+ Physical broad spectrum with no chemicals involved in the sunscreen. The cream has been developed under the supervision of leading plastic surgeons and it is absolutely free from Paraben. The cream features a cutting edge anti-aging technology that enhances the overall texture of skin and brightens it with color correcting formula that maintains skin hydration up to 79%. The formula emphasizes highly on antioxidants and natural botanicals that enhances the glow on skin with color correcting properties. It is highly pigmented, has an excellent coverage with additional sunscreen (UVA/UVB) and skin care benefits. Well that’s a lot of things they have claimed for at their website; let us jump onto my review on this CC Cream.

IT Cosmetics ‘Your Skin But Better’ CC Cream Ingredients

I always go through the ingredients of products which I find intriguing to try. So, I did the same for this CC cream too. Here is a long list of ingredients:

TITANIUM DIOXIDE 9.0%, ZINC OXIDE 6.3%, Water, Snail Secretion Filtrate, Butylene Glycol, Phenyl Trimethicone, Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Orbignya Oleifera Seed Oil, Butyloctyl Salicylate, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Magnesium Sulfate, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Aluminum Hydroxide, Hexyl Laurate, Stearic Acid, Calcium Stearate, Caprylyl Glycol, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sorbitan Isostearate, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, 1,2-Hexanediol, Disodium EDTA, Citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) peel oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Punica Granatum Seed Oil, Pinus Sylvestris Leaf Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Niacinamide, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Water, Lactobacillus/Honeysuckle Flower/Licorice Root/Morus Alba Root/Pueraria Lobata Root/Schizandra Chinensis Fruit/Scutellaria Baicalensis Root/Sophora Japonica Flower Extract Ferment Filtrate, Perfluorohexane, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Glycerin, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Cholesteryl, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Chrysanthemum Indicum flower Extract, Pueraria Lobata Root Extract, Perfluorodecalin, Morus Alba Fruit Extract, Magnolia Kobus Bark Extract, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Sprout Extract, Diospyros Kaki Leaf Extract, Cinnamomum Cassia Bark Extract, Artemisia Princeps Leaf Extract, Pentafluoropropane, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Steareth-20, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Colloidal Oatmeal, Hydrolyzed Silk, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium sorbate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, N-Hydroxysuccinimide, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Tocopherol, Thiamine HCl, Riboflavin, Retinyl Palmitate, Pantothenic Acid, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Niacin, Folic Acid, Chrysin, Carnitine HCl, Biotin, Ascorbic Acid, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Chlorhexidine Digluconate. May Contain: Iron Oxides (CI 77492, CI 77491, CI 77499).

I have copied them from their website and they looked quite fine to me but I read this one Paulas Choice that it contains some phototoxic citrus oils which are not good for the skin and they kind of behave like skin irritants. Another thing that shocked me was the incorporation of some snail secretion in the formula which according to them is a moisturizing agent in the ingredients.

Packaging

IT Cosmetics CC Cream Packaging

‘Your Skin But Better’ CC Cream comes in a sleekly designed squeeze tube with a pump top. The overall packaging is handy and portable to carry easily in the bag.  The pump top helps a great deal in preventing overspilling of the product. The texture of this cc cream is quite thick and you can comfortably get the required amount with one or two pumps.

The Range of Shades

Your Skin But Better CC Cream Shades

IT Cosmetics CC Creams offer a few options when it comes to shades. This cream only offers five shades: Fair, Light, Medium, Tan, and Rich. The luxury of shades which we typically enjoy in selecting a perfect foundation according to our skin tone is not quite available with this cream. You have to make a choice within these shades and believe me it can go horribly wrong if it does not match with your skin color. So, my personal advice here for you gals is to test the shade of CC cream first on your wrist first before buying them. Fortunate for me the ‘Light Shade’ did not make me uncomfortable at all.

My Review on IT Cosmetics CC Cream

The first impression by IT Cosmetics ‘Your Skin But Better’ CC Cream’s packaging was absolutely delightful. The packaging is stylish and alluring for any makeup geek, you can easily see the shade from the transparent area on tube enclosed by silver coating at the bottom and a shiny top lid.

IT Cosmetics CC Cream Swatch

‘Your Skin But Better CC Cream’ is highly pigmented and it’s texture is more like a liquid foundation with a greasy touch making it creamier. The cream is easily blendable on the skin; the shade I got was perfect for my skin tone too. I felt if it was more of a gel like foundation but after blending thoroughly it settled down and started feeling more like a thin layer of powder. The coverage of this foundation is medium but it is buildable to full coverage. If you are really looking for a fuller coverage then this cc cream is a big letdown, even the medium coverage feels heavier on skin.

IT Cosmetics CC Cream Swatch

This foundation may work well for ladies with extremely dry skin but in my case it was an utter waste of effort. I have a combination skin type and this foundation did not last long and broke my skin within few hours. If you have some wrinkles near your jaw line then you would need to go for a fuller coverage because the medium coverage did not do good job in hiding it for me. The claim for anti-aging technology merely looked digestible to me. This foundation cannot last for more than an hour or two in hot and humid conditions.

IT Cosmetics CC Cream Blending & Texture

They have included the Sunscreen in the formula which according to me is utterly useless if it is going to break your skin within a few hours. There is radiant glow on your skin if you do not set it with loose powder that can result in an oily looking skin in flash photography. The skin feels softer, supple and hydrated after its application and this foundation is dewy in nature. If you are looking for matte finish then this is not the product to go for. It is a deal breaker if you work outdoor most of the times. I would prefer sticking to some other makeup foundation that can last longer and sustain the sweat if you stay outside most of the times.

Pros

1- Stylish and Exquisite Packaging.
2- Squeeze Tube with Pump dispenser can save you a lot of this product by preventing overspill so it can easily be used for a month.
3- This CC Cream is easily blendable with fingers; it feels a bit creamy but settles down easily on the skin.
4- The cream offers medium to full coverage.
5- The foundation is dewy in nature.
6- Makes your skin soft and hydrated.
7- Comes with a broad spectrum sunscreen with anti-aging technology.

Cons

1- Greasy texture is a big no for me.
2- Medium coverage does not cover the blemishes and fine lines eloquently.
3- Not an ideal choice for natural makeup lovers.
4- The foundation is not light weight at all, especially if you are going for full coverage.
5- There is a very limited range of shades and these foundations are richly pigmented.
6- This foundation is not good for oily or combination skin type.
7- The lasting power is a big disappointment, not ideal for outdoor use.

IT Cosmetics CC Cream Dupes

Physicians Formula Organic Wear CC Cream

Although it is not 100% replacement for the IT Cosmetics ‘Your Skin but Better CC Cream’ but I would say it is way better in terms of price, coverage and its light weight.  One of the drawbacks is the smell of this CC Cream which to some ladies is not quite intriguing. It is easily blendable and according to ‘Physicians’ it is an organic CC Cream that comes with a sunscreen protection. It does not offer a dew look but a matte texture that settles perfectly with the skin. The other drawback is the orange tint that can bother you a bit. You can fix it with some setting powder and if you have fair skin you might not notice it a lot. On the brighter side the organic ingredients seems quite good for anti-aging benefits. The lasting power on both dry and oily skin is fairly better than IT’s CC Cream and it does not cause any breakouts.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation

It’s not a CC Cream but you get nearly the same thing without any additionally over-blown anti aging benefits. The Maybelline fit me foundation offers a non-greasy coverage ideal for oily and dry skin. It also comes with an SPF (sunscreen protection) and you get to choose the right shade easily without any limitations.  The lasting power is good and this foundation is an absolute beauty for a shimmery look within a very good budget. You can read the complete review of Maybelline Fit me foundation here.

Korean BB Creams

I have never tried any of it but I have read at numerous forums and blogs that the Korean BB Creams are way cheaper and offer the same benefits. You can check the ingredients to find the perfect match on TestKorea.com, beautynetkorea.com and these websites easily ship all around the world.

Recommendation

I have not tried any other CC creams yet, but I would suggest you to stick to a good makeup foundation that offers light weight coverage with a good lasting power. There is a lot of marketing tactics involved in the promotion of such products and adding anti-aging benefits or sunscreen may look really good in the advertisement but they do not really make a big difference. I would suggest you to stick to a good foundation and always use makeup removers and a good face wash to prevent your skin from acne or any skin issues. Some time the foundations clog the pores and causes problem like acne, so washing the face only is not an ideal solution to it. I would rate this foundation 4 out of 10.
